Fields of Heather was inspired by a photo by Freddie Ardley (the first one in this blog post). The photo just sang to me. It’s Fall, but it’s also purple and pink and magical. To be honest, I initially thought the photos was of a field of lavender, but learning that it was of Heather plants in the UK? That made it even better in my mind! I’ve always wanted to travel to see the fields of Heather in Scotland, so getting to dye yarn based off of it was a dream. Maybe one day some of the Fields of Heather yarn will make it to an actual field of Heather! I can dream, right?

Base Info:
Standard Sock: 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon; 463 yds, 100 g; 4 ply
I do my best to match each photo to the true color of the yarn. However, due to variations in display settings on each computer/device, the yarn you receive may vary slightly from what you see on the screen. Additionally, hand dyed yarn can vary from skein to skein and dye lot to dye lot; I highly suggest ordering enough yarn to complete your project!
I highly recommend hand washing your completed project in cold water. There is a chance that some dye may bleed slightly during the first washes, so I also suggest washing items separately. Highly saturated colors and speckled skeins are more prone to this.
